Aliphatic compound - In chemistry, aliphatic compounds are non-aromatic and non-cyclic organic compounds. They include not only the fatty acids and other derivatives of the paraffin hydrocarbons (alkane), but also unsaturated compounds, such as the ethylene (alkene) and acetylene (alkyne) series.
Azo compound - In chemistry, azo compounds generally have a molecular formula of the form R-N=N-R', in which R and R' can be either aromatic or aliphatic. The N=N group is called an azo or diimide functional group, and the R and R' groups of azo compounds are often aromatic or aliphatic.
Cyanohydrin reaction - A Cyanohydrin reaction is an organic reaction by an aldehyde or ketone with a cyanide anion or a nitrile to form a cyanohydrin. This nucleophilic addition is a reversible reaction but with aliphatic carbonyl compounds equilibrium is in favor of the reaction products.
Organosulfur compounds - Organosulfur compounds are organic compounds containing sulfur. They are one subset of many compounds, usually of distasteful odor, created naturally during the decay of growing organisms containing carbohydrate chains and compounds of sulfur (British spelling: sulphur).
