Distributivity (order theory) - In the mathematical area of order theory, there are various notions of the common concept of distributivity, applied to the formation of suprema and infima. Most of these apply to partially ordered sets that are at least lattices, but the concept can in fact reasonably be generalized to semilattices as well.

Absolute theory - In physics and philosophy, absolute theory usually refers to a theory based on concepts (such as the concept of space) that exist independently of other concepts and objects. An absolute theory is the opposite of a relational theory.

Attachment theory - Attachment theory is a theory (or group of theories) about the psychological concept of attachment: the tendency to seek closeness to another person and feel secure when that person is present. Attachment theory has its origins in observation of and experiments with animals.

Theory-based semantics - Theory-based semantics is the discipline of precisely defining the meaning of concepts, ideas and thought patterns by their relationship to other concepts and ideas, based upon well-justified theory. Because meaning is represented by concept relationships, theory-based semantic is completely language independent, expressing the precise meaning held in the mind, rather than what is expressed through language.

The Quantum Theory of Ur-Objects as a Theory of Information - Here the quantum theory of ur-objects proposed by C. F. von Weizsaecker is reviewed, and the philosophical consequences of its interpretation as an information theory are demonstrated by means of some important concepts of physics such as time, space, entropy, energy, and matter, which in ur theory appear to be directly connected with information as ''the'' fundamental substance.

Activity Theory: Basic Concepts and Applications - Introduces activity theory, a conceptual approach that provides a broad framework for describing the structure, development, and context of computer-supported activities.

Introduction to Superstring Theory - These four lectures, addressed to an audience of graduate students in experimental high energy physics, survey some of the basic concepts in string theory. The purpose is to convey a general sense of what string theory is and what it has achieved.[Postscript]
