Agenesis of the corpus callosum - Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum (ACC) is a rare birth defect (Congenital disorder) in humans in which there is a complete or partial absence of the Corpus callosum. It can appear in both males and females, though in females agenesis may be caused by Aicardi syndrome, a condition identified by the French neurologist Dr Jean Aicardi in 1965.
Estrus cycle - The estrus cycle (also œstrus or estrous cycle) refers to the recurring physiologic changes that are induced by reproductive hormones in most mammalian placental females (humans and great apes are the only mammals who undergo a menstrual cycle instead). Estrus cycles start after puberty in sexually mature females and are interrupted by anestrous phases (see below: anestrus).
