Ajaria crisis - The Ajaria crisis refers to a political crisis in Georgia’s Ajarian Autonomous Republic led by a local strongman Aslan Abashidze, who refused to obey the central authorities after President Eduard Shevardnadze’s was ousted during the Rose Revolution of November 2003.
